HOW TO TREAT CHILDREN?
“Spare the rod and spoil the child” – The proverb that has been applied by many parents, the reason why so many children have been severely punished when they make mistakes or misbehave. It is believed that children have to be physically punished in order to develop.
However, physical punishment will cause emotional consequences in children's future, including aggressiveness and insecurity. Children being constantly hit tend to be inhibited and hide what they are doing or thinking from their parents and other people. In addition, they tend to think that hitting is acceptable to get what they want.

1. What do you think about the proverb? Should it be applied by modern parents nowadays?
2. Can you share us how you were taught to develop by your parents? Are you happy with that? If you could change one thing about the way your parents taught you, what would it be?
3. Imagine you had children of your own (if you have not), how would you educate them? You’d let them develop naturally or discipline them?
